My neighbour noticed I was almost out of firewood and dropped off another 12 cord without me even asking for it. I have to pay him eventually of course but he is never in a rush for that.  You have to Love good neighbours.
Let's hear your good neighbour stories.

I liked that. I've lived that too. I'm going to have to check out more of their stuff. I moved in and out of the city too many times. There are things I miss and things I don't. It's always a tug of war in my head whether to go back but I think I am anchored here in the bush in my shack in the swamp. They have simple rules out here. Love thy neighbour and watch his back. Good rules. My nearest neighbour on my side of the road is about a km away. It's one quiet spot which is good and....bad.

I think most people are essentially good. They just often have to be lead to it. I ran the roads as a road service mechanic for many years and later on in a cruiser with red lights. One thing I noticed as that people often keep on going at an accident scene until someone takes the initiative and stops. Then hoards of other people stop and lend a hand. This is the same as when someone falls on the street for whatever reason. People continue to walk by until one person stops to help. Then others immediately join in. I can't explain the reasons behind this behaviour but it seems to hold true. More people just need to take the bull by the horns and be the one. They want to, of this I am sure. Goodness prevails, initiative is what is lacking. Smiles beget smiles, respect begets respect and Love begets Love.

Can you imagine, 3 teenage girls standing at the side of a 6 lane express-way where they had rolled a pickup truck end over end 5 times clearing even a farmer's fence without hurting it and no one stopping until I came along? It was -20 c outside. The poor kids were frozen and in shock. They shivered in my service truck until the ambulance got there but oddly complained about the seatbelts that had saved their lives. They had a hard time getting out of them upside down. Humanity needs to slow down and get a clue and help people in trouble.
One job I had strictly forbid us from stopping and helping people. I never let that sway me if I saw someone in need or stranded.
They surprised me at one meeting and gave me an award for it since someone who had asked for my name, called in to convey their thanks.
Can you imagine my surprise at receiving an award for something that was forbidden? I always figured someday someone would give me a blast for doing that. it's odd. I've driven by a few and still years later think back thinking I should have stopped to help change yet another tire. I changed a tire for a woman once where I bus was honking at her to move. I gave the bus driver a blast and then changed her tire. She tried to give me 20 bucks saying she was disabled and distraught and didn't know what to do. I told her to keep her money and that I would have done it for anyone. She looked me in the eye and said "I believe you would." You just can't beat that feeling. Maybe people don't stop because they are afraid of getting addicted to helping folks. Can you imagine a world wide epidemic of people being good to people? Yeah baby!

Unfortunately its the same story over here also, people will walk pass another in distress, yet it only take that one person to go to their aid for other to follow, should be instinct to help another person in need, but i guess its just the times we live in
